hey there. I have had my bipap for 2 years. I am still struggling with using it every night all through the night. I have bad insomnia and have tried all sorts of sleep meds. anyway, I think based on my experience, try the ambien again and see how you do with it. If you still feel badly in the morning, call the doctor and see if the ambien is making you feel that way or if its because you had only 2 hours wearing your mask, so the rest of your sleep was with apneas! If ambien turns out not to be the med for you, maybe klonopin and benadryl - what they said I could safely take as long as I wear the mask -. I usually need that to sleep with my mask on.. I too am continuing to try whatever I can to successfully use my bipap machine everynight and manage to sleep for more than 3 hours at a time. Unfortunately the combination of insomnia and dislike of the machine is a tough one. there has to be hope! Keep trying the ambien since they said it was okay. give it a fair shot. If it doesn't work, have them try other meds until they find one that helps you. Continue trying the mask every night. Eventually you will get more used to it.....Hang in there!!!!
