I believe it takes some of our brains a while to realize that the emrgency is over and it is saafe to really sleep deeply. If your hypopneas were what needed treating and the cpcp handles that, I ewouldn't think there would be much benefit in switching to an auto. I say that because I have an auto which treats my apnea adequately but doesn't treat my hypopneas, indeed appears to induce them. So, I wouldn't be rushing off and buying new equipment if your primary problem was hypopnea and your current machine treats that. There are quite a lot of interesting posts in the archives that relate to your situation.
