Definitely NOT a silly question. (none are here!) and bound to stir up some differing opinons.
IMHO:
My understanding it that breathing through your mouth with a FF mask will NOT affect your therapy, but could give you a very dry mouth. (speaking from experience on the dry mouth) Be sure to use a heated humidifier especially for mouth breathing. (even then I often get a dry mouth)

That being said....TRY to breath through your nose while using the full face mask. You might be suprised to find out that CPAP can actually work to clear out your nose. and your nose is better designed to keep moist with air flowing through it, compared to your mouth.

I personally am trying to wean myself off the full face mask, which I keep in reserve, while trying to use one of the nasal interface connections combined with a lip strap. My 2am sinus blockup makes this quite a challenge still, although it does seem to be getting better, especially combined with flonase.
