You were in bed for 3½ hours, but only slept for 2. You averaged 95 events per hour, of which 55 were apneas (complete cessation of breathing), and 40 were hypopneas (partial cessation of breathing). You had no REM sleep, and you oxygen dipped as low as 77% (normal is 90% to 95%). You had a very rough time falling asleep, and remaining asleep. There is some evidence of “mixed” apnea, but it would appear – from what I can gather – you suffer primarily from Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
You will be using a CPAP machine set at 7cmH20.
You should be retitrated in a few months to see how well you’re able to use CPAP. You will need to be retitrated at that time to rule out the possibility of Central Sleep Apnea, Narcolepsy, or a REM-related sleep disorder. You are so affected by exhaustion now, that they cannot measure these other factors.
P.S. If I got anything wrong, please feel free to correct me (and do it nicely).
