Interesting article on how breastfeeding may reduce the likelihood of apnea later in life. Makes sense to me and I plan to share it at the breastfeeding support sites I frequent.

I wonder how much of the protective effect comes from breastfeeding leading to a lower incidence of obesity among those children who were breastfed.

Like anything else though, it's not a 100% fix. Mom nursed me for several months, and here I am... Obesity for me wasn't an issue unitl I was into my 30's, but I am fairly certain I've had apnea to some extent at least since my college years, when I was still skinny.

Our 13 year old son snores some, so we're paying some attention to this and may ask his pediatrician about it. He nursed until he turned 5.

Obviously there's more to this condition than how a child was fed as a baby.
