Sleeping on my side

Posted by mike_iowa on February 23, 2004 at 11:47:11:

I am fairly new to CPAP and am having the usual trouble with finding a mask that works for me. I have settled on the Respironics gel mask and it works fairly well but my question is to those that sleep on their sides. How do you do it???
All these masks seem to be designed for people who sleep on their backs and for that they all work great but I can't seem to teach myself to sleep that way after several months of trying. I have slept on my side all my life and even if I fall asleep on my back I automatically turn over in my sleep and when my mask hits the pillow I am immeadiately awake. Help!!
