I have been on CPAP for nearly 3 years at a pressure of 14. I have UARS. In the past, I have had great difficulty with mask leakage, but have settled into using a Mirage Vista since it leaked less than all the other masks I tried. I was using a Remstar Pro, but recently bought a Remstar Pro with C-Flex. I still haven’t had great results and I am still tired, but now only fuzzy, rather than foggy as before. I’ve bought a variety of pillows, including neck pillows, but always the cheap imitations. Yesterday, I bought a T-P Swedish neck pillow and for the first time don’t remember having to readjust my mask every time I rolled over. So that’s my story, here is my question.
I’ve seen two ENTs and both indicate part of my problem is related to my turbinates. Though one wants to cut my turbinates, do a second septoplasty (had one in 1990) and bore out some bone and cartilage to make my air passage bigger. (Not even considering these options)
The second ENT says I only need some of my turbinates reduced and recommends RF Somnoplasty. I did a search and most people on this forum and the Non-CPAP forum have had a UPPP, and Somnoplasty on their tonsils and or plates. Has anyone had just Somnoplasty on their turbinates and what success did they have.
