I read a study in a medical journal a year or two ago that discussed that anxiety disorders, especially panic attacks are not entirely uncommon in people with OSA. The study's conclusion was that the mechanics of OSA (rapid heart rate - and the startled response of waking abrubtly) might be related to developing a panic disorder or other anxiety disorder. I too have an anxiety disorder, but it is much better since I've been using CPAP. Just wish the sleepiness and fog would go away as well.
