I've been on CPAP three weeks, and figuring out to sleep on my side drove me nuts the first week. My pillow was the problem (I use an Activa mask). I bought a very nice contour pillow - it's quite solid and has an indentation for your neck. It's very comfortable. When I roll over on my side, I got to the edge of it. It's comfortable on my cheek and the mask is hanging over the side. It works great.
I'm amazed people can sleep on their stomachs with a mask. I miss stomach sleeping. Can't figure that out. The contour pillow is super comfortable for back sleeping, too.
Good luck! I do feel like the CPAP has turned my life around. How many people have named their machines? My friend named mine Antonio. :)
