Upcoming Surgery & OSA Health Iss.

Posted by SnoozerD on February 27, 2004 at 06:38:07:

Hi everyone,

I have had a bad 2004 start! Here is my story....I had a bad bout of bronchitis which lasted over 4 weeks and I am still recovering from today. I was on 21 days of steriods, and other drug cocktails so that I could breathe....Sleep suffered alot. During this illness I found out I have a gallbladder and asthma problem (Go in for one and come out with others). It is suggested I have gallbladder removed.

Present settings are 25/14 which was changed in December and well I have not felt well since it was bumped from my old setting of 16/10. I did gain weight so I assume the extra pounds had my settings spike up. Usually my adjustments are only a couple of setting numbers nothing this drastic. I think this caused the brochitis to get as bad as it did. I can't say that the lack of sleep caused the other problems.

My concerns (finally!) are right now I am holding lots of water and well exertion is too much on me. I walk a little bit and well I am panting like a dog! I have chest tightness and I believe that is from water retention. Okay weight is very high (425lbs) so it could be part of problem. I have surgery scheduled for end of March and well should I reschedule with all this other stuff going on? I am tolerating the pain on the side. It is not as bad these days as it was a month ago. I don't have heart problems or lung problems (as far as anyone can tell) I have another sleep study set up in a few weeks but I don't think I can make it that long. I don't want to go to ER because it does not seem like ER issue yet. I think it is almost all sleep related but don't know how to sort it all out. I am tired and cannot concentrate....Although from this post I can blabble alot! Thanks for any input you may have.

Pleasant dreams to all!
