That's what I kind of thought, but you should definitely get a military pension of some sort. Doesn't restore your health, but at least gives you some space to rebuild a life.

You don't say how long ago this was; the body has an amazing ability to heal, given the chance and a supportive environment. Good luck to you. I'll keep you in good thoughts.
