Another "first night" question

Posted by sleepy on February 27, 2004 at 10:53:33:

Hello everyone,
I spent my first night with the mask, and I had to take it off after 3 hours. The RT that gave me the equipment said that it can take up to 3 months to get used to it. I found that the occasional air escaping would keep me from getting to sleep, and it felt like the headgear was slipping around. I am so tempted to jump straight to nasal pillows, is this a better alternative to the mask? Will I get used to the mask? I do not have a humidifier, and I felt that the air was very cold...is this normal? Will I get used to that?

I had such high expectations of as good night sleep, but felt a little cheated.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
