I always felt worse on cpap, autopap or bipap than without them but I didn't try them for long, only two years. It took another several years and a couple of doctor changes to figure out that as the pressure increased to stop the obstructive events, it induced central events at an even higher rate. I have also found that this is not as rare an occurrence as people would have you believe. It may be one of the major reasons for people's non-compliance.
