I think you said your problem in the first sentence. You are fighting the mask. You have to relax and accept the mask as afriend that is going to help you.
Going to sleep has to be a relaxed and happy experience or you will not be able to sleep through the night even if you get to sleep...your subconscious will be thinking of what is bothering you . In your case the machine and the mask. Give it time and relax.
Like most newbies you are probably making it too tight... Don't eat or drink for two hours before going to bed.Watch something light on Tv or read someting light...Do not exerecise at night or do anything that will be on your mind during the night.
