Change humidifier water daily?

Posted by Sleepy Time Time on June 01, 2004 at 22:12:58:

This is something I have been curious about -- in the morning, if there is water left in the humidifer, should it be dumped? Or can you leave it in there, and use it the next night?

I find that if I fill my humidifer up to the fill line, there is always water left in the morning -- usually I find that I only use about 50 percent, maybe more, of that amount per night. So, should that be dumped the next morning? If that water is allowed to "stand" a full day, does it grow unhealthy microorganisms or something?

Not a huge issue, but just something I have wondered about.
