Make a conscious effort to inhale deeply and exhale normally for a few times. Relax and go with your normal rhythm. People usually acclimate very quickly. If you still have problems, don't be discouraged. Bi-pap machines are available with lowered exhale pressures if CPAP is problematical for you, but do give it a try for a couple of weeks.

Also, most people need heated humidification. Good luck. You'll enjoy getting your life back.
