As long as you keep your upper limit at 16cm (your prescription) you can lower your bottom limit on a auto-pap to whatever is sensible and works best for comfort, although I would consult with your doctor about any changes you make.

I watch my night studies quite frequently on my auto-pap and my ave pressure varies.

I wouldn't stress over an explanation for why this is happening, unless you feel worse during the day. Just keep the window wide enough so that if you body needs more pressure in the future, the machine will always be programmed to provideit.
