Question on Apnea and study

Posted by Star on June 03, 2004 at 09:57:04:

My sleep study was done years ago but I have kept the records they let me have. It was a messed up test because the Dr told me to go off the Cylert and Prozac two days before the test.
What I wanted to ask is looking at the Apnea+Hypopnea Index I can't understand the chart but what is written above it says AI=0.00 does not exceed normal limits during sleep. But then it says during both sleep and awake states the patient manifested sleep-induced respiratory impairment of the OBSTRUCTIVE APNEA type (AI=.00). The rest of the diagrams and what they say I don't understand on the AI index by sleeping position I can't figure out but I do remember that the technican told me the next morning that I slept on my stomach all night. I know I sleep that way but how is that charted on this? How could I not exceed normal limits but it says sleep and awake induced obstructive apnea?

Please any input would be appreciated.
