Posted by Sleepy Time Time on June 03, 2004 at 23:36:34:Luna, dont get discouraged, one week is not very long at all. It takes some people a lot longer to get used to Cpap, including me. It took me four tries of about four months each before I could sleep six hours with it. (But my first two tries were with other pre-Breeze masks)
I am not crazy-wild about the Breeze, it has its down side
-- but it is the only mask I've ever been able to sleep with. The Adams Circuit had the same problems as the over-the-nose masks, as far as I was concerned -- the straps were uncomfortahle, and either too tight, or they would shift every time I would move.As for the sound, I found I got used to the sound of the Breeze after ahile -- one thing I do though, cos I am a light sleeper, is that I have one of those "wave" machines
-- I have mine set on "waterfall" so that it creates sort of a white-noise type of sound similar to a TV tuned to a "dead" station. I've been using those for years, with or without C pap.Maybe one of those could help, I bought it at one of those trendy high-end electronics stores on the mall
one thing about the Breeze -- it helps to bend back the thin steel "spine" on the back part, close to the back plate, so that the front is not so tight that you feel like you are being hung by your nostrils!
