You don't say how long you've been on CPAP. Your apnea is severe and you've probably piled up quite a sleep debt. Also, using a heated humidifier could make CPAP more comfortable and more restful for you. Nevertheless, Congratulations! on more sleep, better sleep, increased daytime alertness and all that other good stuff.
Some people gradually regain energy; they think the CPAP is not helping until they go without for a night or two and then realize how awful they feel without it.
Probably the Non-CPAP Options forum is where you'll get more answers regarding surgery. It doesn't always help and from what I've read, it can leave you worse off in that the apneas are not sufficiently reduced and CPAP is not as effective, so you might want to see a second and even a third doctor -- preferably ones who are not surgeons -- and get additional opinions. So do lots of research and don't jump into anything.
Good luck.
