you read my mind, barb, i was going to pose the same survey. I am now 250, which is about 65 pounds over my ideal weight.
My excessive slepiness and chronic fatigue began when I went from a 34 inch waist to a 40 inch waist in about 8 months after my dad died. I dont recall my weight at the time, but i am guessing I went from about 180 to 200.
200 lbs is not a lot for 6 feet tall, so I always wodnered what else was going on then to trigger the apnea, other than stress and depression cos dad died (i had not seen him in 10 yeas, we were estranged due to his alcoholism, so i never got to say goodbye before he died -- he died the night before i was going to go visit him)
even after i got over that, though, and remained at 200 lbs for a few years, I was still teribly fatigued and sleepy all the time -- so it is weird that my fatigue began when i gained weight, even though it wasnt much weight
of course it got worse as i got fatter.
