Question for Kevin in Walla Walla

Posted by cjuan on July 28, 2004 at 18:31:20:

Hi Kevin!

I wanted to ask a question about pressure settings. Is it possible that if you have UARS and a pressure of 7 or 8 cm clears up the micro arousals associated with the disorder, that a pressure that may be only 4 or 5 cm above that may actually cause MORE arousals ? Do you see this in the sleep lab ? Is "more" not always "better" in terms of pressure ? Are higher pressures sometimes detrimental ? If so, what is threshold, in other words how much above the "ideal" pressure does a higher pressure start to cause pressure related arousals as demonstrated in the lab ? Is it 2 cm above, 4 cm ? or does it have to be extreme like 5 or 6 ect ?

Thanks!

Chris in LA!
