Thanks to all of you for your responses.

I have always used a heated humidifier. The pain is severe without it! (when I ran out of distilled water).

I've been taking allergy drops (did the shots), and of course the major allergy is to dust mites. Perhaps it's time to revacuum the mattress. It's extra long, hospital bed reclining type, and I sleep at an incline with the head up about 30 degrees. Can only sleep on my back and left side, due to a long-term pinched nerve that makes the right side very sensitive and impossible to sleep on. I have worried that remaining in only two possible positions at night may have done something. I've been sleeping that way for 7 years.

The headaches have only started recently, however. I'm dreading going to bed now, and dispite the CPAP, it's hard to stay awake at work during the day. Time to do a retest, as suggested. Last one was Dec. 2003.
