I remember my doc saying 4 is the absolute minimum. below that just basic losing weight, sleeping on sides and dental prosthetics(painful) are advised to do. In your ballooned lungs the force of air from cpap needs to force c02 out too.
Force from CPAP needs to be so big that it is artificilly sweeping or blow drying the contents of your lungs. so 4cmh20 is the absolute minimal to be be able to be meaningful blower fan for you lungs.
