Two newbie questions

Posted by malakito on July 29, 2004 at 10:52:31:

Hi,

I think I have sleep apnea, I'm in the process of getting tests and workups done. I am a forum newbie. I did search the forums for answers to these questions but didn't find anything.

Q1. Is sleep apnea variable from day to day? The reason I ask is that the symptoms I have seem to vary from day to day. Some days I'm relatively OK, some days I'm so tired I can't even stay awake during the day, even though I had "8 hours" of sleep the night before. I'm going to be having an in-home overnight pulse-oximetry test soon and am concerned that I could have apnea and just happen to have a good night where it doesn't show up on the test.

Q2. I don't dream. I used to quite frequently when I was younger, but I haven't had but maybe one or two in the last five years. Is this a symptom of sleep apnea?

Thanks,

malakito.
