More on weight, neck fat and eating

Several have discussed their inability to control their appetites

I am also a compulsive eater. I have some emotional issues, and they were in full vigor after my divorce, when I gained 40 pounds in a year. Part of that was from an indidious medication called Resperdahl that I foolishly took on my shrink's recommendation without researching it. I later discovered it works on the part of the brain that also controls appetite.

But even when I quit taking it, I kept eating like that

I am a good candidate for Overeaters Anonymous, and in fact have some "time in" with Alanon, but i have not gone to one of those OA mtgs in 4 years

the other appetite observation is that i was, as i mentioned in another post yesterday, diagnosed with candida. One of the effects of that condition is that the candida creates 'cravings" that makes you crave the foods that feed that particular intestinal flora -- sweets, wheat, pasta, bread, alcohol, rice -- carbs

Between those two components, the emotional stuff and the candida, i have not been able to curb my appettite

that is why i am actually pondering stomach surgery, even though I am "only" about 70 or 80 pounds overweight. (250 at 6' 0 tall) Docs who do that surgery will do it on those who are less than 100 lbs overweight if they are also at risk for other acompanying diseases, one of them being apnea
