heated hose vs insulated sleeve

Posted by M.N. (in N.E.) on September 08, 2004 at 06:54:13:

Are you using either a heated hose or an insulated sleeve? I am trying to decide between the two. My BiPAP is already about 18" inches below my head (I lowered it this summer) and the heated humidifier is turned to the lowest setting. The temperature in my bedroom is around 70 F. Yet, I still get some rainout. My questions are (1) would an insulated sleeve be adequate or would it be better to get a heated hose to begin with? (2) if I should get a heated hose, does anyone know if a heated hose can be washed from time to time? (3) how hard is to put on an insulated sleeve? -- a heated hose? I would greatly appreciate your input. (I did a search on the last few forums and did not find the answers to the above.)
