An Uninteruptable Power Supply (UPS) designed for a personal computer will work great with your CPAP. They automatically switch from line power to battery inverter power whenever the main voltage is out of tolerance (they switch within a few milliseconds). Guaranteed equipment protection, and even will run your CPAP for awhile if the main power is off (time depends on the size UPS you buy). These units can be had for under $100 everywhere. Very likely there are UPS units connected to many of the computers on your ship.
