HI! Old timer I am a old timer also. I have some what the same problem. I can get up from 6 or 7 hours of sleep. Turn the TV and set down in a chair and dose off to sleep. My problem is when I dose off I quite breathing. If you quite breathing you are having central apnea. The brain is not telling you to breath. This may not be your problen at all. But it is one of the many problems I have with sleep apnea.
