Thanks for all of the posts and for the encouragement and suggestions. I should clarify that I DO feel somewhat better than before CPAP. I have severe apnea (64RDI) and after beginning treatment I was less groggy, but by no means anywhere near where I was before. Just a slight improvemment. When I spoke to my doc about it he raised my pressure (grudgingly)then did it again after another round of complaints. This was about two years ago. When I complained the third time, he very astutely noted that I am not as young as I used to be. I am only 43, not fat and am taking no meds for anything other than seasonal allergies. Well, when he told me I was just old I found a new doc. His remedy was to put me on Provigil. Nice buzz but no improvement in my mental state. I just feel fogged up all of the time. Every day. All day. Like I am in a daze. Zoned out. I've tried about every pressure from 7 to 16 with no difference in the above. I guess I'll just wait until I win the lottery and go back for more studies and more equipment and see where that gets me. In the meantime, I'll just try to trudge along with the crummy brain activity I have left.
