The wire is wrpped and glued tight around the hose with only a connector sticking out. It does NOT have a fuse, which was suprising, but no one has had a problem yet. The cover is just a cloth tube for insulation.
The heated hose allows you to crank up the heated humidifier to more comfortable levels without rainout.
