I would suggest trying the insulated hose and putting the humidiifer on the floor first. If neither these work (they are not mutually exclusive), then one should consider the heated hose.

I have not heard any reports of electrical problems with the heated hose, but I'd be alot more comfortable if it had a fuse of circuit breaker built-in.
