You are definitely right - my having disturbed sleep is not nearly as big of a consideration as the growth, development and health of my unborn child!! That was my first concern and the first thing I asked my doc about. Because my oxygen level was 93% at the very lowest and the untreated average was 93.7%, he thought it was fine. (He said anything under 91-92% would start to cause concern.) He also said that a drop in my oxygen does not correlate to a similar drop in baby's oxygen because the baby draws its oxygen in an entirely different manner than I do. So unless he is incorrect in either of those thoughts, I am comfortable with his non-concern at this point.

My doc did recommend an Eden Trace (sp?) before going to re-titration - is that the "night-time check of oxygen" you mentioned? He said I'd pick up equipment and use it overnight at home and then they'd interpret the results. I have an appt. to do that next week.

He also said that there is empirical data (not specific to pregnancy) that supports turning up a CPAP one cm for about each 15 lbs. of weight gain and down one cm for about each 15 lbs. of weight loss, but simply trying that is not the "gold standard" of care. So, I sent him a letter yesterday explaining that unless there is a risk to the baby in trying just turning it up one cm, that's what I'd like to try. That could be done within a day, rather than having to wait until Oct. 27th to get all the results and have him interpret them and decide what to do!! I also asked him that if he only feels comfortable with the re-titration study whether he can gear it toward getting me set up with an auto-pap. I had never even heard of an auto-pap until I started doing some internet reading in response to my current situation. Are they pretty new? Is that what you use?

Thank you for your reply and suggestions!
