Size of Breeze Shell vs. Adams

Posted by Rusty on October 26, 2004 at 14:03:53:

I switched from a Narrow Adams shell to a Breeze a few months ago--I am a side/face sleeper--and I LOVE the freedom of the Breeze. However, I am getting pressure tenderness on the outsides of my nares. I measured the shells, and the Adams is only about a 1/2" narrower, but I guess that's enough. Changing the pillow size only leaves air leaks--the problem is in the distance apart, not the diameter of the pillows.
I also continue to have a whistle on exhaling from the vent. When I cover it lightly with a piece of old filter from my machine, it subsides, but not completely (I needed to do that anyway to diffuse the airflow because it was blowing on my partner.)

Two questions:
1. Does anyone have any idea on how to obtain a narrower Breeze shell? Or compensate for the width so my nares won't ulcerate with winter coming on?
2. Is there any handy do-it-yourself info out there about the Breeze vent like there was for the Adams (that's where I got the idea about putting something over the vent in the first place.)
