If your titration study said you need 12, I think you need to have a hard talk with your doctor about why you're just now getting to 8 after three months. Perhaps he was concerned that, in view of your previous insomnia, you would not adjust well to the pressure of 12, but chances are you are still experiencing apneas all night long. No wonder you're tired. Your apnea is essentially untreated until you are able to get the pressure up to where it needs to be.
