1. That is very easy to do. You ask very logical questions along with possible effects. However, my own experience is that every time I think I have a clear understanding of a medical problem, I find how little I really know. (2) There are no rules (strictly speaking). Medicine doesn't seem to follow strict rules like physics. The frustrating part for you is finding answers because sleep medicine is still not very well developed. But with the sleep issues you have mentioned, you need to get some help. Good Luck.
