Based on my own experience, I would have to disagree with the above two posters who said CPAP improves or eliminates GERD.

Cpap did not eliminate or improve my GERD, and in fact, sometimes the GERD makes it difficult or impossible to use the mask. When i am bloated like that, i can't breathe with the CPAP forcing air down my throat -- it only makes me more bloated
