If your nose is getting stuffy, then anxiety over the inability to breathe is an absolutely normal reaction. Yes, aggressively address this problem. You mentioned a passover humidifier; is it not heated? Air passing over a heated humidifier will carry much more moisture than simply blowing air over water. The dry air can be very irritating to nasal membranes and will cause stuffiness, runny nose, congestion, all sorts of uncomfortable reactions. Time will not resolve the problem.
