Posted by lilpig99 on January 07, 2005 at 19:57:42:My 4 year old daughter has been a terrible sleeper for just about her whole life...constant awakenings and always emitting tons of heat and sweat--mostly from her head at night. I really never thought too much of it. The other night she could not completely fall asleep because she started sweating so badly. She finally said "my head is dripping" and it was--her whole body was wet and clammy with goosebumps at the same time. I tried to take the covers off all the way but she complained of being too cold then. I do not overdress her or overblanket her at all! She also has asthma. The only thing i notice about her breathing is that she will start out with deep inspirations, and the every following one will be more shallow, the next one even shallower and so on until I cannot hear her breathe in and after a bit, another big inspiration again. She has NEVER really slept through the night but for one night here or there. Its like having a newborn.
I finally did a little online research on sweating while falling asleep I am debating whether or not this warrants a trip to the doctor. Everyone seems very knowledgable here...what do you think? Thanks alot...
