Yes, your sleep apnea is severe.

Everyone is different in how long it takes to feel improvement. Some feel much better immediately; others gradually improve over weeks and months.

Chances are your mask is too tight. There are many different kinds and some are actually supposed to fit fairly loose and kind of float on the face -- the ResMed Activa and the ResMed UltraMirage.

Sleep apnea at your age is not abnormal. Many people posting on here are younger. Many say, after they've been diagnosed, that they feel sure they had sleep apnea while in college.
