Sinus, Headache, and Ear problems

Posted by Tired of Yawning on February 02, 2005 at 23:31:40:

I've been using a CPAP machine with heated humidification and have been getting recurring headaches, sinus throbing and ear problems. When the humidifier is set to maximum humidification I get rainout in the mask and am unable to sleep (the hose has droplets of water but is not flooded).
To compensate I've put the CPAP with it's integral humidifier on the floor at a level lower than the bed and lowered the the humidification to half the maximum level. At this point I'm not getting rainout in the mask but not enough humidity to prevent my sinuses from drying out and causing a series of problems. I've tried a nasel pillow mask but get air leaks, rainout, and not confortable like the active cell mask I'm using. Any ideas how to increase humidification without getting rainout in the mask or other simple ideas for preventing the drying of the sinuses.
Thanks,
Tired of Yawning
