Another newbie/ insurance problems

Posted by jugularthur on March 02, 2005 at 13:39:08:

Hi,

I have insurance problems (my sleep apnea is apparently a "pre-existing condition" since I got it diagnosed literally days before switching companies) so my doc wrote me a prescription for a self-adjusting CPAP. I really wish I could go through this the conventional way, though, rather than have to worry about buying a CPAP and mask myself, but that's why I'm glad there's a forum like this! My question is, how can I find a retailer near me so that I can try on a mask to make sure it fits me before buying? I've seen Web sites but I don't want to buy before I try.
THANKS!
