I don't work in a lab, but I do work in an office where humans beings interact with files and paperwork, and so will offer a possible scenario: somebody did a minor goof and didn't get labwork results into your file before the sleep study; now the doc takes a look at your file after the sleep study, says "hey, where's the labwork?" and has his assistant call the PCP to order the tests. Is it possible that this is what happened?

Hang in there, lyoncub! Even with the occassional hiccup in paperwork, there's a lot of smart & caring docs out there who have been trained to sort through what looks like an insurmountable mess of symptoms and problems. My thoughts are with you as you go through this all-too-complicated process of finding the right care for what ails you.
