Amazed

Hi,

I must be an old crumudgen...

It never fails to surprise me to read, "I have sleep apneaa and gave up on CPAP, because it was a hassle."

It is like a diabetic saying they do not like the insulin shots, so they stopped taking insulin. Crazy talk.

Isn't it pretty straight forward. If you have apnea, you either treat it with CPAP or have it corrected with surgery (and surgery does not always work).

If you do not have your apnea professionaly treated you will either;

a) have a stroke.
b) have a heart attack.
c) eventually have a sleep deprivation related accident.
d) suffer cognitive problems due to sleep deprivation.

It is not fun having sleep apnea. It is not convienent to have sleep apnea. And CPAP (autopap, etc) can be a hassle, but it beats the alternatives listed above.

Yes, I disliked my CPAP in the begining, but I have come to count on it for a much better life. I really have no choice.

Well, yes I do, but neither a, b, c, or d appeal to me.

Sorry if I sound cranky, but people not treating their apnea seriously, really irritates me.

Thanks,
silenced thunder
