Me, too, and one such person is a an old and dear, dear friend, the other is a young relative, father of two young children. His dad says he's so constantly exhausted, but he gave up on CPAP within a week or two. I can't figure. Your first alternatives don't even mention the slow, gradual deterioration from chronic sleep deprivation that comes before the stroke, the heart attack, or accident (if one is lucky enough to avoid it -- I thank my lucky stars). I don't think people truly realize how bad it can get. I was so tired, I could not walk across the grocery store parking lot without leaning on a basket to hold myself up. Four months after starting CPAP, I realized I was striding into the store on my own. Talk about a moment!

One cannot force anyone to do the best thing for themselves.
