central apnea?

I went back to the sleep clinic to get my cpap and the tech read me the results of the first sleep study. She said I had obstructive sleep apnea, central sleep apnea and mixed sleep apnea.
I had episodes of central apnea apart from the others, is this common? What does it mean?
