I'm a newbie too, and have the same problem. I wake up later with the mask on the floor and not know when or why I took it off. I guess that's testament to how deeply asleep you are. I'm thinking of attaching a bandaid or strong tape from one of the straps to my face or hair, so it would hurt somewhat to just rip it off, enough to wake me up anyway.
