Posted by I'mSEWtired on July 08, 2005 at 21:15:56:I went to the doctor today and asked about an apap. He was not for the idea. Some of the concerns he had were that they don't ramp (I do use the ramping on my pap), the rapid speed of pressure increases/decreases may wake me up. I suggested having a narrow difference between the min and max pressure. He felt that it would be better for me to wait for the apap machines to be better before buying one. I did ask if he would write the rx for one when he felt they had improved enough. And he said he would.
My concern is that in the year and a half I have been on a bipap, I would feel great, then yuck, and back. I would love to at least be able to monitor if I am having problems. I planned to buy the software for the apap if I were able to get one. I now have a Sullivan vpap ll now. I know it has some info it stores, but don't know, and I really don't think it know if I am breathing or not. Any answers on this.
I do hope the heated humidifier ends feeling tired again problems I have been plagued with.
