I do well on my APAP. I sleep all night with it. When I get up in the morning, I go to work and last a full day. I live a normal life. If I was having constant arrousals I don't think I could be doing what I do.

My APAP is not set wide open. I have a 4 cm wide window set by the upper and lower limit. It starts out at 7 and goes up to 11.

The issue of the ramp on a APAP, it has, in effect, an automatic ramp. The pressure will stay lower until you need pressure of a greater therapy.
