It is tough for many people to fall asleep in the artificial environment of a sleep study. I think that is factored in to some degree.
I think you can trust that you have apnea, and it's not minor. I thought that an AHI of 58 was considered moderate-severe, but I could be mistaken.
The sleep efficiency score is a little suspect. I'm not sure what to make of it. My last sleep study was similar. I slept for a little over an hour total. It was not enough for them to titrate my CPAP pressure, but they established that my apnea was back in full force (which was all I cared about - this was to help justify an MMA procedure for insurance purposes).
You do not need eight hours of sleep to determine your AHI. However, I think you might need another study to determine the best starting pressure for CPAP therapy.
